The Bihar Museum Yearbook

The Bihar Museum two years after was established (1974) had published it’s first yearbook, and in the almost four decades which is past from then, plus 8 volumes were released in smaller and larger intervals.

Mostly from the Bihar Museum’s collecting area (from that part of historical Bihar county which is now in Hungary) it’s publishing the nature science, literary history, fine art, archaeological, ethnographic titled monographs, but particular volumes for some writings are looked out across borders.

The editors are consider important to publish the historical, ethnographical sources: For example in the Bihar Museum Yearbook Matyas Bel: Bihar county’s description titled opus. (Transalted by: Emoke P. Szalay, notes supplied by Csaba Csorba. Our yearbook in two cases reported the translation: in the II., furthermore – with improved notes – in the XII-XIV. volumes.) In the I-III., as well as the last three volumes we can read a summary about the Bihar Museum’s activity from the institute director’s pen. At the end of every monograph can be found a german résumé.
