BIHAR-RESEARCH 2016 – THE HISTORY OF THE NORTHERN GREAT PLAIN TOWNS IN THE SOCIALIST ERA

On 25 November 2016 10am the Bihari Museum will give place the Bihar-Research 2016 – „The Northern Great Plain towns in the socialism” intituled conference. The conference will be cooperatively organized by The Bihari Museum, the Legenda Cultural Association and the Parola Non-profit Association and it wants to deal with popular research subject issues nowadays.

The historical scientific examination of the period between 1945-1989/1990, within that the number of studies about the towns of socialism is significantly increased recently but these are mostly by sociological of political history approachings and viewing the era from national or local perspective.

With present conference the organizers are trying to show a new intercultural point of view by examining through lectures the political history, economic-, location-, social- and city history of one geographic region; the Northern Great Plain in the socialism.

During the conference, among others there will be talks about the post-World War II administrative changes, the transition in the University of Debrecen, the industrialization of Jászberény, the social changes of Berettyóújfalu and about the flourishing cabbage of Bors as well.
